This Easter weekend I went to Portugal with my girlfriends. We had an amazing time exploring the city which seemed to consist of infinitely ascending stairs, shabby-chic looking houses and the romantic sounds of Portuguese Fado. However, the one thing that took me by surprise was the weather! I must say that when it comes to picking out your outfits – spring is the trickiest time of the year.
You get ready in the morning and the weather is beautiful, super sunny and warm. So of course you put on your most beautiful summer dress and a pair of matching sandals. But as soon as the sun hides behind the horizon, you realise that you underestimated the fluctuating temperatures of a spring day.
That’s exactly what happened to me on the first day of our trip! I got fooled by the morning sunshine. However, when it disappeared the chilly wind almost made me forget that I’m on holiday and supposed to enjoy myself! That’s when I wished I would have worn something warmer.
MY FAVOURITE OUTERWEAR SPRING PIECE
From that day on I decided that a jacket is crucial for my future touristy adventures in Portugal. That’s how this fluffy blue faux fur jacket by the reassuring name of Fierceness Coat became one of my to-go pieces when putting together any spring outfit.
I love it because it’s warm enough to keep me happy on those chilly evenings, but at the same time it looks super classy and can elevate any outfit during the day.
I got the jacket from JaxxTaylor boutique not long before my trip to Portugal. The jacket has a beautiful lining with a silky feel to it which gives it a glamorous look. Also, it’s got hidden hooks, if you ever feel the need to close it for extra snugness (although I prefer to wear it open or just use the upper hook).
HOW TO STYLE FAUX FUR FOR SPRING
A spring faux fur jacket is quite a strong statement piece on its own, so I would recommend to tone down the rest of the outfit.
You could wear it with a simple shirt and jeans combo or even just with a classic black dress. I’ve put together a few outfit suggestions for you below – hope you like them!
