This year’s Fashion Week, I’m taking it easy. I’ve decided not to stress about attending too many shows or getting captured by the greedy lenses of fashion photographers outside the shows.
Anyway, since having founded a new business venture with my partner Tom, I’m finding it hard to multi-task. You can probably already imagine that a start-up requires unprecedented amount of energy and time. It’s like this tiny little baby that needs constant care and nourishing – it can’t stand on its feet yet… not until it’s ready. If you’re curious to find out what my new business is, keep reading.
But first I want to come back to the subject of LFW. The place I really look forward to hanging out in the most during Fashion Week is the Apartment – now rebranded as The Āpt. It’s a wonderful peaceful haven, full of lovely people, ready to support your Fashion Week needs in every way.
I particularly love discovering new brands and checking out lovely collections of the brands I’m already familiar with. This year, my eye was caught by these simple and yet so delicately unique rose-gold earrings by Ania Haie. When it comes to jewellery, I’m obsessed with simple geometric shapes… so I guess it’s not a big stretch to say that I fell in love immediately!
Another amazing piece I found is by a brand that I’ve loved and admired for many years – Russel & Bromley. In fact the silver “Stardust” ankle boots were the first item that caught my attention when I came in. They are an undeniable statement piece and can spice up any outfit.
Besides displaying amazing fashion and lifestyle brands, there are tons of fun events, inspiring talks and useful workshops.
I ended up taking a workshop session on brand development with a very talented web designer and founder of alleyes.co Natalie Rogan.
She gave me some amazing ideas on brand direction for my new business, which by the way is a tea discovery app, called TeaPro. So for all the tea lovers among you, watch this space as we’re launching the app in April this year! (Not long to go!)
The idea is to help tea lovers find their way through the jungle of teas while learning about the amazing health benefits tea yields. There are also a few other features which we will keep secret for now. 🙂
Altogether, it was a very colourful, exciting and productive weekend for me.
And what have you been up to?
